Since KHRS was founded, we have worked for inclusion, equality, and social sustainability. Primarily through our focus on hiring people who are far from the labor market, and later through our many integration-focused projects.
Since then, we have increasingly focused on working with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This work has since evolved into KHRS Academy, where we concentrate on international project work, with a strong emphasis on upskilling and training individuals facing various barriers.
We do this because we believe that everyone deserves a chance to grow and gain access to employment opportunities.
At KHRS, we specifically focus on the following Development Goals:

This goal is particularly relevant in connection with KHRS Academy and our upskilling platform, E-asylearn. As a company, it is important to us to have a competent workforce that can be trained in sustainability principles. Cleaning work has a significant impact on the environment, so it is crucial that our own employees are educated to perform their tasks as sustainably as possible.
We ensure that our employees are trained through a program tailored to them and their needs. Some require additional support due to language barriers or dyslexia. That’s why E-asylearn allows them to have their training materials read aloud in their native language. We believe that reading difficulties should not deprive anyone of the opportunity to educate themselves for a job.
Everyone deserves a chance to educate themselves.
In a diverse workforce where many come from developing countries, it is important for us to ensure equality within our company. Many come from patriarchal cultures where men hold a higher position in society than women. That’s why we place special emphasis on providing equal educational opportunities for all, regardless of gender.
In addition, we make an extra effort to help immigrant women enter the labor market safely by providing them with the necessary support. We believe that employment is the path to successful integration.

When working with people on the margins of the labor market, it has to make sense for them to enter employment. This can only happen with fair wages and good working conditions. We always strive to provide our employees with the best opportunities for personal development.
Furthermore, it is important to us that we offer immigrant women the chance to become financially independent from their spouses.
We believe that upskilling individuals with an integration background through vocational training programs leads to economic growth and improved living conditions. It is also an economic benefit for society as a whole.
We believe that education and upskilling are the pathways to regular employment and entry into the labor market—for both women and men. Unfortunately, we often see that it is the man who is employed, which is why, at KHRS, we actively work to support immigrant women in entering the workforce. Due to cultural differences, gender equality in the home is not a given for many immigrant women. Therefore, gaining regular employment is an important step toward achieving gender equality both in society and within the household.
Helping immigrant women secure regular jobs not only helps reduce the inequality in society that is often reinforced when they rely on public assistance, but it also contributes to decreasing economic inequality. A paid job is, in other words, a path out of that economic disparity.

Education and upskilling of individuals with an integration background not only benefit the individual but also bring value and advantages to society as a whole. From both a societal and sustainability perspective, we see it as beneficial when immigrant women gain regular employment, as it reduces public spending on welfare benefits such as cash assistance or integration support.
Moreover, a more stable financial foundation can give these women the mental capacity and confidence to become active participants in civil society. We focus on enhancing the sense of involvement and on building a strong network for women—one that motivates them to take part in an inclusive community through active citizenship.
As a private actor, we contribute our experience and methods to help marginalized groups enter the labor market. At KHRS, the exchange of experiences, knowledge sharing, and collaboration are central elements in our partnerships.
At KHRS and KHRS Academy, we have for many years worked in close cooperation with job centers, trade unions, municipalities, government agencies, and other companies and organizations. Together, we have worked to promote human rights, support an inclusive society, and, most importantly, help people with an integration background find employment. Our joint efforts aim to strengthen the integration of minority groups, prevent discrimination, and promote diversity.
In recent years, our focus has expanded to international cooperation, particularly through our EURES partnership and Erasmus projects. We have developed several projects in collaboration with organizations from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Ukraine, Slovenia, Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Romania—all with the shared goal of enhancing employment opportunities for individuals from integration backgrounds.
