KHRS is participating in the international project SafeHost, in collaboration with organizations from Cyprus, Greece, Spain, and Italy. The start-up phase begins in May, when Lucas and Nana will travel to Cyprus to take part in the kick-off meeting.
The purpose of the project is to ensure even safer conditions for hotel guests and staff—especially immigrants. Part of the project’s aim is to train hotel personnel to recognize emergency situations where guests may need assistance. For example, this could involve women who are subject to negative social control. As part of the plan, secure “safe rooms” will be made available where victims can stay until help arrives.
We look forward to sharing much more about this once the project truly gets underway.
